In order to reduce battery utilization, we must first look at causes consuming it and try finding out the solution. This is what most apps on saving power forcefully do inside your android device. But that is dangerous in some cases and you may lose important data and updates running in the system that I why I have excluded most unworthy apps in my description and added only ones I myself tried and tested. So lets look at some worthy tips that you can use as steps to saving power in your battery.

Top Tips to Extend your Battery Life on your Android Phone

Following tips are important and what you will discover after reading them is that all these days you were glancing these features quiet often and yet failing to utilize them right way.

1. Turn off WIFI
WIFI and 3G both of them drain a lot of battery when your android gadget is in idle condition. If you can, turn off or disable data usage in your phone when you are not using your gadget. To do this, you need to just Go to Settings and just to the right of Data usage, uncheck it. If you have 2G network access, use it when the phone is not in use and you still need updates from apps.

2. Disable Google Maps and GPS
Again another battery eating app when the gadget is idle. This app working in background drains away your battery by Reports and Updates.  To disable this, all you need to do is go to Settings, choose Location Settings and disable Reporting from this device and if possible disable all GPS options when not in use.

3. Close apps after Use and Disabling/Uninstalling Apps consuming lot of power
This is seriously overlooked by most of us. To play games on your Android phone and guess what you got some work. What do you do? Do you close the app after use? This simple carelessness can cause a lot of power wastage. Moreover, you can disable running unnecessary apps on your phone by going to settings and choosing apps. Some apps may consume a hell lot of power and are not at all necessary on your phone. Its better to uninstall them if you don't want to use them.

4. Keep Screen Timeout Short
In default mode, your android gadget screen may timeout in 2 minutes but if you want to save your worthy battery power, you can simply shorten the Screen timeout by going to Display under Device settings and Choosing Sleep and selecting the lowest screen timeout.

5. Wallpaper and Brightness
Another major power consuming feature most commonly overlooked is Wallpaper and Screen Brightness. Using Live Wallpapers although seems quiet interesting feature but drains a lot of battery as well. Moreover, decreasing brightness can really help in saving power. If you can, always try using dark/black themes with apps and use darker background in Chat apps because they consume lesser power.

6. Auto Synchronize and Auto Refreshing Apps
Apps like those of Email providers like Gmail, Yahoo, etc.. , Chat apps like Wechat, whatsapp, etc.. are often in auto synchronized mode, i.e. they try synchronizing even when its not even needed. Auto refreshing featured apps such as facebook, gmail, google+, instagram etc.. also eat up battery power in long run. When you want to check updates, it takes just a matter of few seconds to manually refresh or update the app. So stay away from auto synchronizing and auto refresh feature as long as you don't need them.

7. Airplane Mode:
I know you have heard this before and you wouldn't try doing it. But wait.. Are they really needed? What is an airplane mode meant for? For stopping to receive kind of Connections like SMS, Calls, Internet updates etc.. on your phone. Now as we all know 90 percent of android usage that we do day to day basis is all over the internet and texting. Calling, texting and chatting with friends is what android is made for but if you are in a location where you are not allowed or don't need to contact someone, better switch to airplane mode rather than Silent mode.

8. Turn off Vibration Alerts
Many apps that we use have default setting to have vibration enabled. This can be useful in meetings but I haven't found any of it on a general basis. Turning off all vibration settings in Message, Chat or Call Alerts and Even in many of games can boost up your battery efficiency. So just disable vibration from all android background or running programs.

9. Turn off Bluetooth
You don't need Bluetooth running all the time right? So, don't drain battery for that. Its simple when you want to transfer files just turn on Bluetooth and remember never carelessly keep bluetooth on for no reason. This is not only a problem for battery but also for security as there are many hackers spreading viruses via bluetooth.

10. Use Power Saving Mode and Scheduled Turn off
If you are using your android device constantly throughout the day, you can simply use power saving mode. This limits the maximum usage of CPU, saves power by using low level for screen and changes background color to save energy from internet usage. If are not using android gadget while sleeping, you can schedule auto turnoff in settings and improve power saving.
